Evaluation Forms returned by previous delegates who have attended our training days Introduction to event photography Motocross Training Session Evaluation 28th February 2009 Many thanks for attending the recent training provided by event-photos.co.uk In order for us continually monitor and improve our course content we ask that you spend a few moments completing the following questions and then return via email. 1. Did the content of the course meet your expectations? It did. There were lots of practical hints and ideas. Sorry to not be more forthcoming but it was exactly as I expected. 2. Were there topics not included that you would like to have discussed? I think the one of the points to cover more may have been equipment. We did talk about camera gear and printer/computer stuff but I think putting it all together in a coherent way will be harder for some than others. 3. Was the delivery of the course at an appropriate level? There was not in general too much disparity between the people on the course with perhaps the odd one or two not coping due to knowledge of gear. I think that you set out to show how to shoot a motocross event and you succeeded. I am not sure how useful it is if you are doing a dinner dance. Perhaps that’s where the next course comes in. 4. Did you have full access to equipment and computer software? Yes you were very generous with your equipment and not at all precious about it. In fact I have just bought the 17-40 canon lens you loaned me as I needed a new lens for the weekend. 5. Was the event suitable for the training? It was suitable in that it was good for motorcross. Facilities were basic and less than inspiring for women 6. Was the venue easily accessible? I was not sure how easy it was going to be to find but I did without a single problem but the road signs are not that clear. Good job it wasn’t muddier as I could see some getting stuck! 7. Would you like to be notified of any further training opportunities from event-photos.co.uk? Yes would love to be notified. There is always room to learn more. Please add any additional comments: I thoroughly enjoyed the day and learned several different things about event photography and in particular motocross photography. I thought that you should have done more on the food front. It would have not been too difficult to put something together quite cheaply. On the other hand I would have charged more for your training day, even going as high as £150.00 I wonder how many people will go on from this and actually do events as a living, I suspect not many? On a personal note I enjoyed your candor and wit and expertise in all things eventy. I would love to be able to work more with you on a paid level of course. If you can think of anything I can do to help you or if you would like to use me to do events for you then I would like to talk further. Thanks for a great day. Gary Wolff Know all! Thanks for the thoughtfulness of your replies. Regarding food, there is a whole new can of worms with relevance to H&S and food preparation that I leave to the Burger guy! Hmm, charge more for the training, not an unwelcome idea! Cheers Ian Introduction to event photography Motocross Training Session Evaluation 28th February 2009 Many thanks for attending the recent training provided by event-photos.co.uk In order for us continually monitor and improve our course content we ask that you spend a few moments completing the following questions and then return via email. 1. Did the content of the course meet your expectations? Yes – good insight into how the process works, what sells, selling techniques and equipment required 2. Were there topics not included that you would like to have discussed? No – comprehensive coverage and Ian was willing to answer all questions 3. Was the delivery of the course at an appropriate level? Yes – it sensibly assumes a reasonable level of general photographic competence and focuses on the issues specific to event photography 4. Did you have full access to equipment and computer software? Yes 5. Was the event suitable for the training? Yes – small enough to regularly return to the van as required but still plenty of action throughout the day 6. Was the venue easily accessible? Yes – until I make enough money from events to buy the Ferrari!!! 7. Would you like to be notified of any further training opportunities from event-photos.co.uk? Yes – I am looking at all areas of this market so future training could be of interest Please add any additional comments: Please say a big thank you to Jade for providing an insight into her sales role – and for the regular supply of coffee! Alan Muggridge Training Session Evaluation 8th June 2008 Many thanks for attending the recent training provided by event-photos.co.uk In order for us continually monitor and improve our course content we ask that you spend a few moments completing the following questions and then return via email. 1. Did the content of the course meet your expectations? Yes 2. Were there topics not included that you would like to have discussed? I would have liked to have spent more time with Jade in the van to see her perspective a little better. There was enough time to ask questions though and time allowed to discuss any topics people wanted to. 3. Was the delivery of the course at an appropriate level? Yes – allowed everyone from pro to those never having used an SLR before to be 100% involved in all aspects 4. Did you have full access to equipment and computer software? Yes 5. Was the event suitable for the training? Yes 6. Was the venue easily accessible? Yes 7. Would you like to be notified of any further training opportunities from event-photos.co.uk? Sally joined Event-Photos and established her own team July 2008 Please add any comments: The ‘hands-on approach’ gave a insight into the practicalities of the Event which a classroom situation would not have allowed. The tasks set led to relevant & important questions which may not have been asked if we hadn’t been taking photos and if the course had been based only on theory. Sally Evans Training Session Evaluation 8th June 2008 Football Tournaments Many thanks for attending the recent training provided by event-photos.co.uk In order for us continually monitor and improve our course content we ask that you spend a few moments completing the following questions and then return via email. 1. Did the content of the course meet your expectations? Yes – The step-by-step assignments of going out to capture certain types of photos helped to understand the nature of photos required for football events in particular. 2. Were there topics not included that you would like to have discussed? No. Enough areas were covered enabling me to make an informed decision whether to progress or not. 3. Was the delivery of the course at an appropriate level? Yes - It was a calm relaxed informal atmosphere throughout the day, in my opinion this enabled all of us to take pictures without the fear of the pictures being analyzed as if they were taken by seasoned pro’s. 4. Did you have full access to equipment and computer software? Yes 5. Was the event suitable for the training? Yes – It gave us a real understanding of the size of event that is covered by a single team. 6. Was the venue easily accessible? Yes, Central MK 7. Would you like to be notified of any further training opportunities from event-photos.co.uk? I will keep looking at the website for future days that could be of interest, though my intention is to create a team. Please add any comments: My impression of the training given was aimed more towards each trainee being able to take better pictures and to give them an insight into the world of event photography rather than a mass recruitment exercise. This made for a very enjoyable day and I didn’t feel under any pressure to make a quick decision that could ultimately have been regretted.
